At Philo Presbyterian Church, we're always excited to welcome new visitors. We hope you'll join us for a service, fellowship time, or an event we are hosting. We want to make your visit as meaningful and comfortable as possible. We are welcome to participate as much or as little as you want. Our hope is that you will find a place here to explore faith and be supported and nurtured in your spiritual journey.
Our church is located on East Jefferson, off of highway 130 in Philo. You may park in front or behind the building off the alley. There is a lift on the south side of the building for those with mobility problems.
Worship begins at 9:30 am. Immediately following service, coffee and treats are served in the fellowship hall.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church,
for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get God's approval. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.
Children are welcomed!
We believe children need to worship in their own ways and in their own voices. Your children are welcome in worship at all ages, and we do not expect them to be still and silent. Children learn about worshiping God by seeing others worship God. We invite them to participate in the service as they are able, often collecting the quarter offering and sharing their joys and concerns.
If you find it difficult to focus during worship, or your children are having a rough day and need some space to play, we do have a nursery worker available, and they can play with them downstairs.
When you walk in,
a member of our congregation will greet you. Someone is usually standing at the rear of the sanctuary. They will hand you a bulletin and be happy to answer any questions you have. If you have any questions about the service itself, members are able to provide helpful answers.
Be sure to hang around after the service and join us for coffee and treats.
You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. We'd also love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
